The recent announcement by Morocco that Berber will be taught in schools using the Tifinagh script* and an observation of Tifinagh signs in parts of Algeria** make one wonder if this script is enjoying something of a renaissance?

On the other hand, Berber instruction in Algeria (also announced a few months ago) will not be in Tifinagh.

BTW, a summary of Berber writing systems is available at http://www.geocities.com/lameens/tifinagh/
