This is Jack Halpern from The CJK Dictionary Institute (CJKI, http://www.cjk.org). I hope this email finds you well.
I am please to let you know that we have recently greatly expanded our Chinese Personal Names Database, which contains over one million names, by adding gender codes. This new field is in addition to other attributes such as pinyin readings and type (given name/surname). Furthermore, upon request we can supply a Traditional Chinese version of this same database.
Due to the nature of Chinese names, it is very difficult to assign reliable gender codes, since there is no straightforward algorithmic way to do so. The inclusion of gender code information increases the effectiveness of disambiguation, and therefore makes this particular update quite special.
For more information on this resource, as well as a sample of the data, please refer to the following web page: http://www.cjk.org/cjk/samples/chname.htm
Keep in mind that as with all of our data resources, this database is not a shrink-wrapped product but rather a resource that can be tailored to your specific needs and budgets. By all means please get in touch if you would like more information on how we can best meet your needs. In the meantime, you may be interested in our other Chinese resources, please take a look at the following: http://www.cjk.org/cjk/cjki/pamphlet_c.pdf
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Jack Halpern
